Mission

The mission of the Canyon Police Department is the maintenance of social order, within carefully prescribed ethical, constitutional, and legal restrictions. In partnership with the community, the Canyon Police Department is dedicated to providing professional law enforcement services, which promote public safety. The success of our mission depends upon our ability to:

• To manage organizational resources effectively and efficiently
• To maintain financial stability
• To provide long-range program developments, such as the Agency Recognition Program
• To ensure that the citizens receive the quality of life expected through the delivery of fair, impartial and equitable law enforcement services

Values

We insist on honesty and integrity, as adopted in the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics. We respect the constitutional rights of all persons and their dignity. We value every Police Department employee as well as their contribution toward our mission. We recognize our awesome responsibility to the community.

As a Law Enforcement Officer my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional Rights of all men to Liberty, Equality and Justice.
